PIC OF BARBED WIRE

References

WIRE courses are taught using two primary references. These references include a Case Study/Course Materials notebook and a Reference Book. The Case Study/Course Materials book contains the detailed case study used in teaching the course, all course overheads/slides, and all problem sets used by participants. The Reference Book provides a chapter on each of the six resource categories, as well as an introductory chapter on integrated management.

Other materials have also been developed to facilitate teaching of WIRE courses. These materials include: The WIRE Workbook, designed to assist participants in getting started applying the process on their own operations; the WIRE Case Study: Warbonnet Ranch video tape, designed to provide a discussion piece for introducing people to the concepts of integrated management; and the WIRE satellite broadcast (funded by the Managing Change in Agriculture mini-grant program). The taped satellite program provides viewers an introduction to the WIRE management process, as well as to the first two steps of strategic planning—writing mission statements and setting strategic goals.

Other materials are also routinely provided at WIRE courses for participants to view and perhaps purchase for their own libraries. Below is a list of such materials used by the Wyoming team.
